Max Barry (born 18 March 1973) is the Australian author of Syrup (his pen name for that novel was Maxx Barry for satirical, not pretentious, purposes) and Jennifer Government. He is also the creator of NationStates (a game created to help advertise Jennifer Government, what this wiki is all about).

Barry's third novel, a corporate satire entitled Company, is expected to be published in 2005.

In early 2004 Barry converted his web site to a weblog and began regularly posting to it.

His nation was Maxtopia
