General Information

Basic Government

Methody was founded on the 14th October 2003 by Peteronia. Since then an elaborate system of governance has emerged. The Head of the region is the Regional Founder, Peteronia, who holds the powers of the Regional Controls. However he is bound by the Whitla Convention and the Methodian Constitution not to use them unless emergency require it or the Regional Court authorises it.

There is currently some debate going on as to the role of Arturria, Kamsaki, BlobbDobb and Alonif in forming the region as it stands in its present form. Historians from the respective nations may interpret founding events in conflicting manners, but the records kept in the Peteronian Central library are generally accepted as canonical.

BlobbDobb has proposed the establishment of the Methodian Union (M.U) Any nations wishing to add or amend to the resolution should do so on the M.U's page.

Discipline

The Regional Court is made up of the Founder, who acts as a neutral go between so cases can be kept anonymous if desired, and the Regional Court from the region voted in by Single Transferable Vote. They are also bound by the Constitution to act lawfully. So far only five cases have been heard in the DC, of which only one has had action taken because of it. This was the illegal slaughter of refugees fleeing from the Methodian nation of BlobbDobb to Peteronia and Kamsaki through Whitla by the former Methodian nation of Boxianing during the BlobbDobb-Boxianing War. These refugees are protected by the neutrality of Whitla under the Whitla Convention. Boxianing was ejected from the Region for this.

Methodian Union

This was set up by BlobbDobb and New Lofeta to promote Peace and roleplay within the region. The constitution and member list is on the main Methodian Union page.

UN Affairs

The Delegate only takes power when the founder is away. This is to protect the region from crashers.

Recent State of Emergency

Until recently, the region was in a State of Emergency. This State of Emergency was removed by the regional founder, Peteronia, following a vote that showed that at least 8 out of the 10 nations present at that time were opposed to dissolving the region. The region will now undergo a revamping of the management heirarchy before an increase in the number of nations will be encouraged.

Regional Anthem

The Regional Anthem, similar to a National Anthem but representing the entire region, is the "World in Union", with words set to Gustav Holst's great masterpiece "Jupiter" from "The Planets Suite".

Regional Games

The Methody Region is renowned for its high level of intellectual role-play. The Nation BlobbDobb is currently hosting the Methody Regional Games a sort of olympics. Winners are chosen through a combination of tactics and luck.
