The self-proclaimed 'Master of the Free Kick', Michel Lysiak is an eleven-year veteran of the McPsychovillian Football League and one of McPsychoville's most sought-after talents. Naturally left-footed, Lysiak began his career in his hometown of Triela, with the Wanderers, where his natural aptitude for dead-balls became abundantly clear. In his first season, he scored seventeen times despite his midfield position, and was honoured as the Division Two Rookie of the Year that same year.

A hard player, Lysiak has seen more than his share of cards, and it has to be said his temper is a distinct problem - more than once, he has abused referees and been sent off for it. In 1999, after being booked in the final match of the season - in which second-placed London FC were playing Selanne United, top by a single point - he reacted very badly, punching the referee and headbutting a Selanne player. He was instantly red-carded, and subsequently banned for the first ten games of the next season; to compound his misery, Selanne scored a few minutes after. This incident acted as a catalyst for him - not least because the London manager forced him to take an anger management course. When he returned, he was noticeably less brutal in his challenges or approach to the game.

Having been chosen for the Minutemen national squad for the upcoming World Cup, Lysiak is looking to improve on his already-good record in international games - in fifty-two games, he's scored forty times, most of which came from free-kicks. He is currently vice-captain of the team, ranking just behind Damon Arnaud, and has been quoted as saying 'I've got a good few years left in me yet' - as fans of London can only hope.
