Life of the Grand Duke
Grand Duke Mikail Shimano III was born to the Grand Duchess Marie I, the second female ruler (known as the "Second Lady of Cradenza") of the Duchy at her Palace at Spaala. It would remain his favored residence throughout his life.
His mother, the cultured and erudite Grand Duchess, insisted that he be given the finest education. The Duke's father, Prince-Consort Peter, raised his son to be a great warrior while the Grand Duchess tempered his love of war with an equal love of culture.
In the Duke's ninth year, his father died suddenly at the Lemur Palace in Dahon. From this time on the Duke was raised in a mainly-female environment among his mother and sisters. Some say that this unconventional upbringing contributed to his later greatness.
