Akhtendum's military prowess is renowned; her forces are perhaps the most well equipped in all Africa, saving the reverence of the Soviet states and Azaziel.

The Holy Air Force (HAF)

Led by the infamous Invincible Death Flight Wing, Akhtendum's airforce is the pride of her military. Astonishingly well equipped and unquestioningly funded, the HAF leads Akhtendum into every battle, decimating the enemy wherever they can be found. The HAF consists of twelve wings, each comprising of a dozen squadrons of twelve. Plans have been drawn up to increase the number of flight wings, though HAF personnel remain in strict opposition, claiming that a dilution of the force is behind the proposals. Besides the HAF the Regular Air Force (RAF) exists, a larger (if lower profile) organisation that includes HAF support crews, ground personnel and Naval air crews.

Akhtendum Holy Army

AHA is perhaps one of the largest and best equipped mobile forces in Africa. Comprised of 100 legions, each legion holds 1000 men under arms. Some legions are exclusively mechanised infantry, while others may be dedicated to tank warfare. Consequently, the "largest" legions are the infantry battalions, while smaller vehicle oriented legions make up for the smaller battlefield coverage with massive numbers of support technicians. The AHA is mostly a conscript force, though some elite legions are comprised solely of combat veterans, volunteers who have stayed on after the mandatory six years of service. The AHA is also the only branch of Akhtendum's military to make use of non-professionals; educated citizens with valuable skills are drafted into the first and third branches, while much of the working class spends its quota of service in AHA, learning valuable skills that were otherwise unavailable. It is thus that Akhtendum's army acts as an educative tool for building up an able and dedicated workforce.

The Holy Akhtendum Armoured Navy

HAAN is the newest branch of Akhtendum's military, grown out of a need to effectively police the Suez Canal and developed in order to further extend the reach of Akhtendum's Armed Forces. Recent action saw the HAAN in the North Sea, after Akhtendum seized oil rigs from the anarchic Paciff CP and the hostile Aiin. Following engagements saw the HAAN successfully interdict Hiiraanese shipping in the Mediterranean and harass enemy warships in the Red Sea. The government has made repeated pleas for increased budget to be allotted to HAAN, increasing the fleet from its current configuration. The fleet's composition is as follows:

  • Six AEGIS type cruisers, utilising similar technology to the AEGIS
  • One Aircraft Carrier, capable of successfully transporting and launching a full wing
  • Four Assault Helicopter carriers
  • Eight Destroyers
  • Twelve Gunboats
  • Forty Patrol Gunboats
