Midna Beta does not contain any life-supporting planets, as it is a binary star system. When the refugee cryoships carrying to safety the five hundred million people displaced from Midna Solaris arrived insystem, it was realised that they did not have enough fuel to continue searching for a suitable landing site. Instead, they decided to drop into a low orbit around a Neptune-coloured supergas giant, now known as Midna. A few survivors were awakened by the onboard first generation AI, and collectively they decided to latch the ships together, and combine their small manufacturing base in order to attempt to construct a temporary shelter from the howling radiation belt surrounding the planet. A thousand years later, there are three cityships orbiting Midna. M-1, M-2 and M-3, with M-1 housing over 1.8 billion citizens.
