Party Leader Description Percentage of Seats in the CLP Seats in the HC held of 180
National Conservative Party Constantino Sorantanali Currently on second term as leading party. 54.37 87
Pacitalian Social Coalition Fernando Chiovitti The Social Coalition Party (SCP) is the second major political party in Pacitalia. The SCP is a socialist party with moderate-left economic beliefs and moderately-libertarian social beliefs. It should represent most of Pacitalia's truly leftist people, mostly students and unionised employees, but in the last election the SCP was criticised for not being socialist enough and that was the main reason for the Greens' rise to opposition status, replacing the SCP who had held it for sixteen years before them. Fernando Chiovitti is not to blame for this drop in popularity, as he inherited the party from Aracio Partiva, the man who had been rather ineffective in maintaining party support for this organisation, the second-oldest in Pacitalia. Chiovitti is singlehandedly responsible for the resurgence of the PSC back into the position of Opposition Party. 25.19% 163, 74
Green Party of Pacitalia Neros Constantakis The Green Party of Pacitalia (GP) is now a major political party. Though only one year old, it has defined itself of this, coming from almost no support as a fledgling organisation of pro-environment Pacitalians to being the opposition third party in that short space of time. The party is economically centrist and socially extremely libertarian. Some say the Greens may prove a weak opposition because they have nearly similar economic beliefs as the FPD and approve of a large percentage of the FPD's new pro-environment economic laws that have been recently implemented, along with the governing party's determination to lead the world charge in the search for permanent or long-term renewable energy sources. Those same people argue that the most likely scenario of Green opposition to the government will be a push for more libertarian social policy. 10.82% 70, 34
Non-Partisan Association Aria Speranza The Non-Partisan Association (NPA) is the main centrist party in Pacitalian politics, formed when FPD caucus members split from the Federation because they felt the views of centrist, non-confrontationalist Pacitalians were not being properly heard by a right-of-centre party. Aria Speranza has guided the NPA into the position of fourth party in just one election, a remarkable feat in an electoral system that favours brokerage parties like the FPD and PSC. 6.34% 41, 26
Partia di Traditionale Marco Quirinamo The Partia di Traditionale (PdT) is an ultra-conservative, sometimes neofascist party which advocates greater religious involvement in the government and a revert to traditional social values, which obviously means the removal of pro-same-sex marriage legislation that was implemented three years ago. The party is broken, as its leader, Marco Quirinamo, inherited the party merely days before the last election when the board of governors fired Roberta Santo Paraggia. It was a factor in the elections, most definitely, as the PdT, which was actually expected to gain from having a male leader instead of a female one, lost seats and support and dropped to fifth, allowing the Communists to jump into fourth, a group they definitely despise. Quirinamo has worked hard to draw former PdT supporters back to the fold, and it paid off in the 2006 election as they added to their seat totals in both houses, even though their percentage of seats decreased. 2.32% 15, 6
