The Nonhonzhinga is the ruling body of the Osage Empire, serving as a supreme court as well as handling all legislative, judicial, religious, and some executive concerns. The literal translation of the name is 'Little Old Men', and 'Little' refers to its members' position in relation to the universe. The Nonhonzhinga appoints (and dismisses) the ten generals who generally handle external affairs such as diplomacy and war.
