Northern Defence Systems

Northern Defence Systems is the Alliance's largest single provider of arms and armaments, with products being sold to several key RRF and ADF nations, and one of the highest share prices in the ASI 500 index.

Formed in 2006 after three years of negotiations, Northern Defence Systems is the largest private defence company in the world (it is roughly 23% bigger than KegmenistArms, and another 10% larger than Super Roman State Armaments). Its formation represents the growing unity among Northern nations; every northern country is served in some way by NDS.

NDS comprises several distinct companies, each with their own roles and place within the overall corporation. The largest of these is RoudCorp. RoudCorp is the principle arms and vehicles supplier to the Roudland armed forces, manufacturing every vehicle used by the Roudland Army except the PZH 2000 Howitzer and the AAV-7A1 Amphibious APC. It is split into RoudCorp Land Systems (handling Tanks, IFVs, etc), RoudCorp Aviation (it designed and built the J-35 fighter for the RAF), RoudCorp Technical (Archer Communications, AX-10 helmet) and RoudCorp Weapons, known as Heckler and Koch.

The second part of NDS is Gothrian Defence. They are one of the Alliance's oldest arms corporations, and are split up thus: Gothrian Ground Defence (manufacturers of the APAA IFV, the Challenger 2 Dragoon, and various utility vehicles), Gothrian Personal Defence (manufacturers of Gothlar, the region's foremost body armour), GothriAir (who manufacture only one product: the Apache Longbow) and Gothrian Arms, comprising Sig Sauer and Gothrian Weapons Outfitters (responsible for the PUMP and TUMP variants of the H&K UMP).

The final major part of NDS is Royal Ordinance and Materiel, the Great Wrightland national military supplier. ROaM manufactures in three distinct areas: Royal Arms (weapons such as the SA80, Browning HP), Royal Land (military and civilian Land Rovers, the Leopard 2 tank, the CV 90 IFV), and Royal Shipyards, designers and builders of the Type 45 Destroyers, Indefatigable Class Carriers and Roudland's Vector Class Submarines).

The multi-national aspect of Northern Defence Systems gives it the largest wealth of defence products and services in the region. Currently eight different countries use NDS products or have collaborated with NDS on projects. Roudland operates 75% of its Armed Forces on NDS equipment, Gothria almost the whole of its military, and Great Wrightland's forces use equipment that is over 60% NDS-supplied. McPsychoville operates the H&K G36K weapons system, as well as the Mk23 pistol and accessories, while Friendly Aliens operates the MG4, Gothlar personal armour, and operates a national weapons system that is derived from the G11 technology. Further to this, NDS has united the Alliance's large militaries with the Archer Communications System, providing the pinnacle of networking technology to Roudland, Gothria, Great Wrightland, McPsychoville, and Kegmenistan. On top of this, NDS outfits the entirety of the VDEF (the Violet Strawberries Defence Force), and has worked with Kegmenistan and Super Rome on large scale aviation projects, notably the C-5 Cargo plane and Typhoon advanced fighter plane with Kegmenistan, and the Cobra/ Albatross dropship programme with Super Rome. On top of this, Super Rome uses Northern Defence Systems-derived Dorchester armour and 'Serpent' flame-throwers on its Scorpion MBT and Dragoon Tanks.
