The Canton of Ojibwa has a strong Ottawan majority. Its population is considered to be middle-of-the-road, politically speaking. The November election saw a narrow win for the BGG, although the results may indicate otherwise. The IKM won just one congressional seat; however, the difference between the IKM candidate and Mrs. Saskatoon was only 1%.

The 2006 census placed Ojibwa's population at 43,000,000.
