PBC Three (formerly called PBC3 both in print and on-air) is the third channel of the Pacitalian Broadcasting Corporation's television services. Launched 1st November, 1982 alongside PBC Two, it was part of the PBC's first foray into multi-channel television provision. It remains the most popular children's- and youth-oriented television channel, consistently gaining greater audience share than its competitor, TeleJuve. It currently broadcasts in digital high-definition with some programs available through ActiveCast interactive services.
PBC Three delivers programming oriented for children 12 and under between the start of the broadcast day (0600 AOTC+3) and 1600. After that, the programming genre moves to series more suitable for youths aged between 10 and 19, and deals with issues like social acceptance, puberty, sexuality, romance, teen health and exercise, as well as some sitcoms with ensemble teenage casts. At 1800, PBC Three airs a 60-minute news package hosted by and aimed at youths, covering current events, youth issues and humourous stories. Numerous Pacitalian primary and secondary schools carry PBC Three through a closed-circuit transfer system and broadcast the previous night's news package during the morning before reverting to a live feed of the channel. This is the main reason why PBC Three is able to garner such a large audience share for its genre and why it so strongly defeats TeleJuve in the ratings.
