PLATE can refer to a "light" unpowered armor suit developed by Tahar Joblis to test the armor composites used in the UBU, ICE, and ORO. Due to the high mass of the unpowered rigid suit - 50 kg - it is fairly unpopular in spite of the fact that it will prevent most small arms fire from killing the wearer.
