Patrick Mannion was the Toaiseach of Freedomstaki. He is also the country's youngest so far. Elected in 2002, he was up for re-election in 2006 but lost to John Layfield and the Conservative Commerce party. Mannion is generally considered to be a bleeding-heart liberal as he has pushed for many things that some of the more socially conservative members in his party draw ire to.
Early life
Patrick was born into a working-class Freedomstaki family. His father worked in the decaying uranium mines in order to put food on the table. He later worked as a boilerman at a power plant. His mother was a stay at home during his first years, however, she went off to work as a social servant. He also has a sister who who is an accomplished artist and works in a morgue.
Education
Patrick attended public school for his elementary years but dropped out because the classes sizes were much too big for him. He was later dianogsed with a form of autism. Patrick attended two private schools. After graduating from Willow Hill Academy, Patrick recieved a scholarship to the University of Freedomstaki for computer education. There he earned a master's degree in science and a associate's degree in politcal science.
Early work
Mannion became a tech support worker and programmer for Freedomstaki's Massivesoft Corporation. However, he found the company did not suit he needs entirely. He tried to form a union but was ignored. During this time, Patrick became more active in the Liberal Labor party of which his dad was member of and knew many respected members of the party. He began to work his way up the party ladder. In 2000, he was elected party leader at the age of 28, making him the youngest leader of the Liberal Labor party in history.
Toaiseach
In 2002, the Liberal Labor party won the general election in a minor landslide. With this victory, Patrick became the Toaiseach of Freedomstaki, the youngest in modern history.
Criticism
Mannion recieves a lot of criticism, too much to go into length here. But we'll try to mention some stuff here. Mannion is criticized as being a bleeding-heart liberal by members of the Conservative Commerce, Christian Democrats and Islamic parties.
