From the 3rd Imperial Army

On the plain below the Akaeian camp, hell was becoming reality. Right and left, the cannon balls were raining down, grape in some places and solid in others. Arrayed against the 3rd Imperial stood the main body of the Sacred Army, less in number but carrying the day. The Akaeian line was arrayed in 10 battalions across and three deep, and an additional 2 battalions on either wing and 3 drawn up in reserve. fartehr still on the wings, the Akaeian cavalry and the Zagorlad cavalry were fighting, the Inotaur winning on the right but the standard cavalry loosing to the left. Volley after volley rained forth, cloaking the whole battlefield in the fog of gunpowder smoke.

"En Nados Makantum Akaeium Ded De Klesis! E-N-M-A-D-D-K!" (In the Name of the Akaeian People and the Crown) Rose the cry of the Akaeian lines, an orderly chant which the officers used to keep their men motivated and their firing speed standardized. In some places, the battle was not being fought hand-to-hand, as Zagorlad units used the smoke to creep close to Akaeian lines to attack.

The battle origninally was going well for the Akaeians, but about noon the fighting progressed out of range of the Akaeian artillery, and the Zagorlad force destroyed the 36th and 37th before the Akaeian line came back into fire support. reports came in all day of various units of the 4th, scattered across local towns, clashed with Zagorlad's emergency militiamen. In ordet o progress any closer to Ongro, however, the Zagorlad force would have to be destroyed here, and now, and the Akaeians knew it.

As the rays of the sun began to fade, there appeared on the right side of the battlefield another force, and at first the Akaeian line feared it to be another Zagorlad force. Nevertheless, when the officers regained control of the situation and reports reached the headquarters, it became clear that these men were Sicinian, and come to aid their allies in the battle. Across the line there came a great cheer, as the very earth seemed to tremble with the shouting of "E-N-M-A-D-D-K!"
