The Piero is the official currency of Cookesland and is issued by the National Mint in the city of Port Imbris. The Economic Ministry oversees their design, amount issued and how often issued. As of 2007 Cookesland is believed the only nation in Nationstates that uses the Piero.
The ISO Symbol for the Piero is C₣ which would not normally make sense. This is because the two predecessors of the nation, Cookborough and Aurania-Shifre, each used the Cookborough ₣ranc and the ₣lorina respectively.
The Current Exchange (As of May 2007)rate of the Piero to the Universal Standard Dollar is about 2 to 1.
The Piero competes with the Yonàri, the other major currency used in The Sunrise Islands for use and exchange rates.
