The PopularFreedom Hockey League (PRL) is the top level of hockey in the nation of PopularFreedom. It contains the majority of PopularFreedom's internationally-known clubs. There are currently 12 clubs in the PHL after the last expansion in 1991. The top 4 teams from each conference make it to the playoffs at the end of the season.

The current defending PHL champions is the Workers Point Hurricanes located in the city of Workers Point, PopularFreedom.


History

The PHL was formed in 1955 with eight teams. In 1971 two more teams joined when the Athens Red Wings and the Victory Union Coyotes joined the league. In 1991 the Lenita Panthers and the Stanislav Bulls joined to bring the league up to their current level of 12 teams.
