Introduction

The Predator Squads are the best non-mutant fighting forces in Friendly Aliens, they combine exceptional battlefield skill and typical extensive Eldar experience.

Equipment

They are equipped with the lastest in Friendly Alien technology, each member is equipped with a full suit of armour made with new APART material and a mask similar to the Battle Visor which looks like the predator it is trying to represent made from the same APART alloy. Both have a thick crystal layer to isolate against heat energy and shock and a thick alloy layer to absorb kinetic energy.

The Predator masks have no weakspots not even eyeholes. However the wearers perception is not effected, advanced vision and sound technology actually amplifies the wearers perception allowing the wearer to hear extremely quite sounds and see in low light conditions and its weight is increadibly low meaning their is no effect on the physical performance of the wearer.

The AI of the helmet is programmed to automatically phase out extreme stimuli meaning the wearer is immune to stun grenades and all similar weapons and these helmets (as with all other Friendly Alien systems) are fully EM protected by a faraday cage.

The mask is completely sealed and has a filter system. The air breathed in by the predator is automatically filtered to prevent the breathing in of harmful gases and the filter can be automatically be set to rebreath, this will allow the Predator to survive in an airless area for up to 15 minutes in battle mode and 45 in emergency mode. Finally the mask can be connected to an external air tank which can allow the Predator to survive for hours.

Their gauntlet's carry advanced technology: a remote hacking device capable of entering any network and any computer remotely, a "priority" markerlight, battlefield communicators, a keypad so they can influence readouts on their HUDs and a Predbooster for their Electrogloves (this can allow for extra powerful strikes aswell as many other things).

Armed normally with customised ARC SMG's, Electro gloves, Sun Swords and Micromines, unlike their Super Mutant cousins they actually stick to these weapons except in exceptional circumstances, they actually understand firepower is not everything.

Doctrine and Traditions

These special squads are used like normal Eldars with a few exceptions: they are sent to a battlefield in their own dropship (which then waits nearby just incase they need emergency evacuation) and they are given complete battlefield freedom. They have full access to the Friendly Alien battlefield network, they will travel to where ever they think they will be needed. They have full access to resources, they can call for a missile strike they will get it, they can call for fighter support they will get it, they can call for an entire platoon of GIGA they will get it. In peacetime the Predator Squads are sent in to destroy criminal organisations and terrorist organisations which are too big a threat for the police, they are used as a last resort.

Each squad is named after a predator found in the Alliance. The numbers in each squad is never more or less than thirteen warriors. If there are 4 Predator squads of which there are 52 Predators. Any new recruits into the Predators have to wait as a Young Blood until either a member from a currently existing squad dies or there are enough members to justify the creation of a new squad. The original thirteen masks of the squads are never replaced and thus if a Predator falls it becomes the devout mission of the others to make sure the mask (and the body of it's wearer) is recovered. Masks can be repaired even from the smallest parts but if a mask is completely lost a replacement will not be made.

The remaining Predators if they fail to recover the mask and they think they are still at sufficent strength to fight, can continue with only twelve members. But if the numbers of a squad become too few to fight effectively, the remaining members of the squad may take a 'Rite of Extinction' to declare the extinction of the squad and another squad in the guise of another Predator is made from stratch.

All these traditions are born for practical reasons. The recovery of the mask and the body of the wearer are all made to make sure the rare technology given to the Predators are not wasted or fall into enemy hands. These traditions also create a powerful link between the members of each squad which is also very useful increasing the fighting strength of a squad.
