Her Highness Princess Sophie of Altec (Sophie Elisabeth Irmingard Adele Dagmar Marie), (23 June, 1882 - 28 May, 1892) was the first child of King Philipp II, then Duke of Altec and his wife, Lady Elisabeth Bauer. She was born at Schloss Ottosbrun, her parents' primary residence.

The princess was an only child for the majority of her lifetime; two younger siblings, Gabriella and Adalbert, were both stillborn. She longed for a younger sibling to play with, despite the growning age gap that would be in place. Therefore, she was thrilled when her mother gave birth to a surviving child, Prince Rupprecht, in 1891. Sophie adored her brother, helping the nursery maids to feed and bath the baby. She had a natural maternal instinct, and often told her mother that she wished for twenty children. However, her life and dreams were cut short, when almost six months after Rupprecht's birth, Sophie died at Schloss Ottosbrun of diphtheria at age nine. She was buried at the Royal Masoleum near Schloss Hanover.
