Biography

Early Life

Czar Ptolemy I was born in Kydonia, West Corinthia (now called Ostia). The son of a Corinthian nobleman and senator and his equally prestigious wife, Valerius grew up as a model Corinthian citizen. At the age of 18 he began his required military service in the Corinthian army, but decided to become an officer once his conscription expired. By the time the Tribunal government had murdered the Czars and taken over the country, Ptolemy was a Colonel. An ardent supporter of the previous Czars, he chose to use his influence to sway the loyalty of the army to himself rather than the Tribunal. Then, with the backing of the Corinthian army and Wilhelmsborough, a long-time West Corinthian ally, Ptolemy overthrew the Tribunal and established himself as the monarch of West Corinthia.
