“Although my heart, like your hearts, still bears the scars of the recent Sicinian betrayal of our people, I cannot but feel that it is our duty to stand by our allies in the United Counties in this hour of darkness. For the Sicinian people face an enemy not only to their institutions and traditions, and indeed, very way of life, but as well and enemy to the lifestyles and institutions of the whole region. Premier Nathan du Alphonse fights to quell the chaos and anarchy of Radicalism championed by pretender Adrian Laroux.

“And I say, even with so fresh a wound from the betrayal in Eskinanthus, that we must aid the Premier in this fight. It is not just a Sicinian fight, but indeed a fight for the whole civilized dominion.

“I find myself, at this time, reminded of the wise motto of the United Counties; “We make war that we may live in peace.” And so it is that this nation must be prepared to sacrifice everything for the sake of peace and prosperity, a stability and integrity built around the common commitment of the Premier and this government to end the destructive crusading of the Egalite. I therefore declare, with the unanimous support of the Prolekteion, that Akaeia will support the suppression of the pretender Adrian Laroux with all available means.

“In the united voice of this state, I hereby announce that unless military action against the rightful Premier, Nathan du Alphonse, is immediately stopped, Akaeia will commit herself to military action.

“In recognition of the need for support of the just cause of all True Sicinians, Akaeia has announced that all merchants who support the Premier will be exempted from tariffs and subsidized 30%. Loans and bonds will immediately be rendered available to support the Allied war effort. Akaeia hereby vows, upon all her prestige and authority in this world, that not one centimeter of land will be annexed or removed from Sicinian control by Akaeian forces. Akaeia asks for the support of the Duxburian Union and the Mernian Empire, and for their participation in the formation of a grand Coalition to save the besieged Premier and usher in an era of peace and triumph unlike any seen beforehand.”
