The real world is an out-of-character place sometimes visited by NationStates players. It is also known as real Life, RW, or RL. Some have said that the word life is an abbreviation for "lame imitation of fair existence", therefore real life is the undeniably real lame imitation of fair existence. Whatever it stands for, the real world has caused many players to quit NationStates in pursuit of goals in real life, which has caused some players to regard it as "perhaps one of the scariest places in the universe". However, many a time these pursuits have ended with the return to NationStates.
