Rinceton Preview are a Sabratese pop band, formed in 1987 by Allen Raneberg in Raf'yn. They are the most commercially and critically successful exponent of popular music to come from Sabrateur, having sold over 1 billion records across The Spectrum.

Formation and Early Years
Raneberg graduated from Osias Academy in 1985 with a first class Honours degree in Music, with professors noting his excellence in compsoition. Upon relocating to Raf'yn that year, he formed a band named Year Zero with two friends, however the other members were unreceptive to Raneberg's work. At one concert in the city, he met Mitchell Whitemayer, and Raneberg alledgedly sacked the band on the spot and asked Whitemayer to join. Whitemayer then introduced him to an aquaintance from college, Denzel Smythe, and the band settled together under the name Rinceton Preview. With popular music in Sabrateur burgeoning at the time, The Preview (as they are affectionately known to fans) were instantly noted for their revolutionary and interesting sound, combining 'infectious beats with hooks and lyrics to die for, with a versatility notably absent from their peers' (SMP, Dec 1987). After gigging relentlessly, they were signed to R2 the B Records after an astonishing 2 months together. This label backing saw them go into Think Tank Studios, Raf'yn, to record their debut release, 'The King Lives'. Due to their growing reputation and excellent reviews, the album entered the charts at #3, and was certified platinum after 3 months. Thus followed an extensive tour of the West Spectrum, including a triumphant homecoming show at the Raf'yn G-Hall on 31st December, 1987, which saw them play to a capacity crowd of 23,000.
