Roam Island

Roam Island is a former protectorate of Taijan which has only recently gained provincial recognition

History

Choppy waters in the Straits of Saint Christopher meant that Roam Island was seldom reached in the early days of Belgian colonialism. Finally, in 1829, Spanish missionaries reached the island and founded a monestary on the northern edge of the island, to this day called St. Blaze. Slowly, the mission became an almost manditory stopping point for all ships with a hint of religion on board. Even the sworn-to-secularity cargo fleets of New French Germany stopped here for rest and relaxation on their long hauls from Futaba Aoi to Dun Eideann.

Geography

Across the narrow Straits of Saint Christopher from Taijan itself. The two islands are actually located somewhere about 200 km south of Dun Eideann and signifigantly north of Futaba Aoi. The climate is much like Taijan itself: wet tropical jungle most of the year, with short cold monsoons when winds come in from Snowflake.
