Robert Belcourt is the current archbishop of the Roman Catholic archdiocese La Trenche in Baranxtu.
As one of the most staunchly conservative Roman Catholic public figures of Baranxtu, he is quite infamous for his frequent and highly publicized quarrels with moderate or progressive Catholics, Baranxtuan politicians and Baranxituni priests.
His most recent and also one of his most widely known disputes was with the government's stance on foreign relations with South Antrium. He criticized the sanctions against South Antrium as being solely based on religion; he then attacked the subsequent public statement by Foreign Minister Lehura Ŋura-Eilara as being an "insult to the whole of Christendom".
