Robin Helopiz was born in Heythorpes, Cachette de Lions, on February 7th, 1961. He initially started his political career in the Social Democratic Party, and was a Member of Parliament for Jeansité-sur-Blanche, North, but left the party because of dissatisfaction with its leader Jonathan McGrady, and the party's drift to the left (he was at the ideological centre).

He then went on to become involved in local Jeansitéan politics, eventually rising to the position of Mayor, defeating the candidate from his former party by a large majority. He is currently popular with the city's populace, and is respected across party divisions for his fierce oratory and diplomatic skills, though some criticise him for his resistance to co-operate with some parties, notably rejecting most moves by conservatives, leading some to question whether he truly is centrist. He was elected to the post of General Secretary in 2007, forcing an election for Mayor of Jeansité-sur-Blanche which was subsequently won by Liberal candidate Jean-Luc Pânachet. He later stood successfully as Secretary General of the IDU.

He has written 2 novels and frequently writes articles for the Jeansité Post and its national counterpart the Cachettian Enquirer. He is married to Eva Helopiz (née León), with whom he has 2 children.
