About the letters used
The choice of some letters may be a little confusing or startling to many readers only used to Latin letters. The main reason for the use of, e.g., φ instead of f was to remain as close to their pronunciation as possible. I.e., for most people f signifies a labiodental sound, whereas it actually is a bilabial sound. Additionally, in many cases, the chosen character represents this sound in the IPA. As for the vowels, it is a little different. One could have gone with diacritics (e.g., ô instead of η). This would, however, become too confusing with the diacritics actually used with the romanised Baranxeï alphabet, that is the trema and the nasalisation diacritc.
