Description

The Spz-9 Wildkätze was a joint project with Falken Armour Works of Wingarde, and designed in an attempt to supply both the Wingarde and Van Luxemburg Militaries with a light and heavily-armed vehicle that posessed tracks, which was uncommon for an IFV in both Militaries. The vehicle is built with, for the Van Luxemburgian version, a Müller Panzerwerke 35mm cannon, as seen on the Pioniere Panzer 3 (PPz-3). An universal Falken Automotors engine was installed, delivering 1100 HP. The vehicle is able to reach 810 km on one 750 liter tank, which is an average of 1 km on 1.08 liters of fuel. It has 6 gears, combined in an air-assisted gearbox for shifting.

With a mere 6.8 metres, this vehicle resembles a slight increase in length to that of a normal IFV. The weight is rated at 31.8 tons, which gives it a level 30.2 classification in the Van Luxemburgian Military, concerning bridges and other weight-specific objects. Thanks to it's tracks, the vehicle is better able to conquer heavy terrain, and it can pull up to slopes of 75%, while a flip-over danger of the vehicle exists at 47% sideways. The vehicle is also able to move through water of a maximum of 1.6 metres deep, when not using it's amphibious possibilities, while in use, this makes no depth limit, thanks to two shafts at the back of the vehicle enabling the SPz-9 to make a maximum speed of 7km/h over water.

The armour usually provides protection for 7.62mm bullets from every range, though a 14.5mm bullet will cause damage from a maximum 500 metres distance. By then, the Spz-9 should have tracked the enemy, and should be able to open fire. With additional armouring (applique), this can be further protected up to 30mm. This however makes the vehicle very heavy, and it is not advised to use this as a standard issue.
