Sangria Sands, a democratic, peaceful and self-defined neutral region, was forged from the fires created by a split in a region called New Hellenic America (NHA). The democratic nations of NHA decided to write the new chapter in the former burgeoning region’s life by creating Sangria Sands.

The NHA had reached new-found heights of 50 nations before erratic leadership and reckless alliance talks caused the region’s founder and two other nations to be deleted. This event is now described as The Greece Independence Day Crisis.

Democracy spoke and withstood crucial tests to avoid a worthless war and to name our new region. Sangria Sands was delivered through a democratic vote. Seven founding nations left NHA but once Sangria Sands was established, the new region claimed the ruins of its former region as its outpost. The rationale to keep the ruins? Simple, to remind Sangria's founding fathers and former regional brothers and sisters what greed and reckless play can do to a fine region.

The events of the Greece Independece Day Crisis and its ensuing fallout helped define what Sangria Sands is : Wise leaders of democracy, courageous defenders of peace.

Under the steady guidance of the region's first president Terra Alta and founder Black Thirteen, Sangria Sands steadily grew. The region is now famous for its regional conga lines, active government, soccer league and unique partnerships with other NS regions. These partnerships run the spectrum of game play in NS and are proof of Sangria's diplomatic strengths. Playing beyond NS expected conventions and protocols is highly held regional belief.

Founding nations: Terra Alta, Port Cobourg, Dead Dragonians, Black Thirteen, Kaldo, Hellenic Warrior and Black Dragonking
