The Sardaukar Confederacy, loose confederation of allied states, is one of the oldest enduring regions in the world. It was founded by Sarda, who currently serves as it's head of state.

The daily affairs of the Confederacy up until March 3, 2005, were run smoothly by Sarda's long held second in command, Hidlberg, a judicious and intelligent leader, to whom much of the region's stability can be credited.

Today, Sarda heads a government consisting of the Landsraad Council and four new ministries.

History

The Sardaukar Confederacy was founded in early July 2003, with the intention of building up a region that could safely interact in NationStates politics and allow nations to enjoy a position in a region built up on the principles of confederation and easy self rule. Under these principles, in less than a month the Confederacy grew to include at its peak, 243 nations. As a result of the relaxed government and membership interaction that number dwindled over the next two to three months to around 100. After a few more weeks, it stabilized at around fifty briefly.

During the times of rapid growth the Confederacy successfully defended smaller regions, and most notably halted the formation of a nazi regional alliance in its infancy, preventing the invasion of another region in the process. The Confederacy also operated for a long time as a member of the Alliance Defense Network during it's very early stages.

The only real threat ever presented to the Confederacy's safety was the Atlantic Alliance, which tried to invade the region twice, each time unsuccessfully.

On March 13, 2004, the Confederacy applied for provincial status in the Meritocracy. It was approved as of March 23, 2004.

On March 3, 2005, the Confederacy summarily withdrew from the Meritocracy as a Province without formal recognition of secession. Sarda proceeded to found the Landsraad Council and the four Ministries of the region, which now govern it.
