Overview
Seatolia is a member of the United Nations. It was created about one and one-half years since the People's Republic of Microtarius dissolved. After being created, Seatolia carefully dilliberated which region to place itself into, and thought that the Union of Independent States was the best choice available. Right now Seatolia has very little power in the Union as it is not on the Judicial Panel (a position it has been striving to be in) or a Regional Delegate. Seatolians speak the ex-Microtarian official language, Vallian, which is remarkably similar to modern-day English. It also used to use other ex-Microtarian emblems, such as its old currency, the Gobi, and its national animal, the Microtarian Eagle. Now however, Seatolia has done out with the old and in with the new, making its new currency the Token and its new national animal the Ermine.
Geography
Seatolia (before Microtarius) initially ran from the southwestern Microtarian state of Marinas into what is now Sebolj, a state in the country of the Bolglands. Seatolia is more long than wide, and it was the most populous region of Microtarius. The climate is Marine West Coast, and it rains the better part of 4 out of every 7 days. The eastern, inland part is mostly made up of rolling hills, forests, and wineries. The western half is made up of many large cities, including Seazz, Nortare City, Jemslen, and the capital of New Seattle.
History
Microtarius History
Before the nation of Microtarius broke up into the seven local nations that made it up (Seatolia, Tariland (including Transarctica), Seatolia, Nortia, North Gobia, Vintèrk, and New Minoria...all of these local, none on NS), Seatolia was a nation on the western coast, bordering the Celevan Sea. The nation of Microtarius acheived many things throughout its time in NationStates history, including starting the Valley of Gobi, a very successful region in its time, and co-founding the International Peace Treaty Organization (IPTO). Seatolia was named after the Marine West Coast climate it shares with the city of Seattle. While in Microtarius, Seatolia was a state with the second-largest population and was a haven for the Microtarian Democratic Party.
Seatolia History
Seatolia was once part of the Nortan League (970 A.D.- 1612 A.D.), an esteemed Empire made up of local nations, and before that it was made up of tiny Kingdom-States, and was known as the United Kingdoms of Seatolia.
International Relations
Seatolia as a state in Microtarius
Microtarius and the IPTO had many conflicts with an alliance known as Pax Celestia, controlled by the countries of Celestia, NPRC, Gangrel, the Iron Curtain. This alliance had many nations in it and was at their time a very powerful one. It was made up of communist and dictatorship nations bent on taking over NationStates. Soon IPTO forces (mainly from Microtarius and the Queendom of the Celestial Valley) took back a rebel part of Celestia in the region of Minoria. This new nation was called Celestia Minor, and it was soon occupied by Microtarians and Celestial Vallians holding off Celestian forces from invading, and Celestia Minor joined the IPTO. Soon after Celestia Minor was formed the nation of Listeropia, an important member of the IPTO, dissolved. This was a major blow to IPTO forces. Soon after that, Pax Celestia proved the victor and the International Peace Treaty Organization dissolved, along with the co-founder nation of the Celestial Valley. Celestia Minor was dissolved by Celestian forces and soon after that, the nation of Microtarius dissolved. It is unknown whatever happened to Pax Celestia as none of the nations that were in it have apparently dissolved along with the region of Pax Celestia.
Seatolia as an individual nation
Seatolia has not had any all-out wars with any other nation, although it has had several small conflicts. While the nation of Korribaan was ejecting the nations of Jjuulliiaann and Popestantinople and their satellites out of the Union of Independent States, all the nations were very uneasy. Not only had he done something unconstitutional, but all of the remaining nations were "will we be next?" However, the nation of Seatolia was partly glad what Korribaan did. It was wrong, no doubt, but Seatolia had had few international relations with the nation of Jjuulliiaann, and as it was the most activist nation in the Union, the Seatolian government saw it as a controlling nation. Also the Seatolian government does not like some of Jjuulliiaann's policies on government, so many people were glad to see it be ejected from the Union. However, with time comes a better understanding of things, and after Saxe-Witte and Caladonn worked together to eject Koribaan as well, the citizens of Seatolia were getting a little uneasy. They were glad that they did this, for it reassured them that they would not be ejected by Koribaan, but they were worried that they would be ejected once Jjuulliiaann came back into power, as they had not been the most friendly to the nation. After Jjuulliiaann was ejected, the Seatolian Congress sent a telegram to the Jjuulliiaanni government, saying how glad their nation was that Jjuulliiaann was ejected. For the time being, however, Saxe-Witte was the regional delegate, and Seatolia was very uneasy about whether Jjuulliiaann would be let back in or not. Soon after, however, Saxe-Witte let Popestantinople back in and soon after that, Jjuulliiaann. The Seatolian government worked right away to extend an olive branch to the nation. Even so, Seatolia felt as if they might be ejected, but soon after, Jjuulliiaan replied and assured them of their security.
