Skittlerawk
Skittlerawk is a burgeoning nation in the NationStates region of Gay. Its citizens take extreme pride in their educational system, have democratically called for the near elimination of the armed forces, and have completely removed ballistic weapons from the country.
Having no interest in playing war games with other countries, the island nation prefers diplomacy to preemptive striking. The nation is known around the world for it's pristine natural reserves and attracts many tourists with it's stunning beaches and casino resorts. The citizens enjoy freedom of oppresive government politics, prefering to make their own life decisions: for better or worse. Drug usage is completely legal, prisons are nonexistant, and the public school system is the envy of the world. Gay marriage is legal, and all citizens are encouraged to express their love openly without fear of reprisal. Clothing is optional in many public areas.
Chemicals and additives are banned from the food supply, meat eating is frowned upon, and nature trails are abundant. The citizens of Skittlerawk eat well, are provided with free healthcare, and live long and happy lives.
The long term goals of the government are to increase the economic outlook of the country without allowing big business to interfere in the political process. The income tax rates are currently out of control, but efforts are being made to reduce the burden on the Skittlerawk public and increase the cash flow from tourism, banking and gambling industries in the country. Sponsored politcal advertisements and private donations are forbidden in the election process and voting has recently become compulsory to ensure that the government is truly representative.
Although immigration is allowed, only those who can prove themselves are allowed the right of citizenship and all of the benefits thereof. Any citizen may automatically sponsor one person into the nation as a citizen every ten years. A citizen may also apply to sponsor further immigrants through the Skittlerawk Office of Immigration.
