The Socialist Worker's Party is the main left-wing party of New Imperial Rome. The SWP is currently the leader of the left-wing opposition. The SWP was created in 1919, when the United Socialistic Democratic Union (USDU) broke into moderate and communist parties. The moderates formed SWP, while the communists formed the Marxist-Leninist Union.

The SWP supports strict government control of private companies and government-run public services (it opposes privatization). The SWP is liberal in non-economical politics and supports equality between different citizen groups. The SWP also opposes imperial rule, and has been campaigning to reduce the power of the emperor and provincial governors.(Governors are appointed by the emperor and have automatical seat in the Imperial Senate.) Howewer, the SWP's attempts have failed due to reduce popular support for the emperor (the constitution defines power relationships between different government branches and constitutional changes need to be approved by a referendum) The SWP maintains close ties with different organizations and trade unions. The current chairman of SWP is Josefus Stalinus.
