Sonata Arctica

The region Sonata Arctica, was founded in the spring of '05, aptly named after the Finnish Gothic metal band favored by its founder, The Dominion of Undeniable Perfection. The name was chosen after a brief consensus was made late at night with a friend via AIM,Changsha. The creation of the region was implemented by the two as a ground for close friends with NationStates who went to the same school, Parkway South High School, Manchester, MO.

After creation , Changsha, without much hesitation, left former unique-cult region LUEshi for Sonata Arctica. Soon after 3 more school acquaintances arrived; politics ranging from dictatorship to liberal.

Interested in quantifying Sonata Arctica, Undeniable Perfection quickly solicited newly formed UN nations to join his region. These unknown nations quickly populated S.A. bringing the population up to about 25. Dissapointed with the lack of control and genuinity, Changsha took no hesitation in returning to LUEshi.

Among the newly formed nations in S.A., Two Knives proved to be the biggest power threat to Undeniable Perfection in regards of diplomacy with Delegate position. Ironically this had nothing to do with Two Knives' attendancy at rival school Parkway West. Using internal telegram solicitation, Undeniable Perfection quickly massed endorsements and remained delegate for the majority of the time, provoked once by Two Knives who gained the delegacy for a short time.

Unhappy that S.A. left its roots, Undeniable Perfection asked Changsha for help. Changsha made it clear that only friends should be member nations of S.A. Easily influenced, Undeniable Perfection banned an unheard of 17 nations in one sitting, receiving a myriad of hate telegrams subsequently. The favored Nation States of Peake and Two Knives were given a hiatus to choose their own new region.

Modern Sonata Arctica contains 10 regions including Changsha and some new-comers. Most previously banned nations resorted to joining "Red Federation" which can be elaborated as "The cream of the crap of Sonata Arctica wanna-be's"

"Nation of the Year" title was created out of pity by Undeniable Perfection when friend and nation "Asymptote Island" moved away.

Region Crashing

Perhaps out of spite, S.A. had a week long plan to crash LUEshi during May '05. The idea was brought to the forum by Undeniable Perfection and soon approved of. It is thought that this crash was started as a means of justification of power against LUEshi and (then) former member Changsha. A friday night was set as crash night, and UN members of S.A. were told to endorse Undeniable Perfection upon arrival at LUEshi. Nosy school acquaintance Banana Man 402, of LUEshi, hears about the plan and posts the news on RoLUE forums. S.A. did not get enough members in LUEshi, and all soon returned to home region. It should not be overlooked that this effort resulted in both regions password protecting themselves from new nations as a means of security. Hostility between S.A. and LUEshi has not been intensified since, partly because of the attention span of a LUEshi nation.

The Fall of Sonata Arctica

By late 2005 to early 2006 every member of Sonata Arctica had effectively expired their accounts by means of inactivity. Without a doubt, NationStates had escaped the Sonata Arctican's immediate internet -priority agenda's. Notably, a level of situational irony arose when the owner of "The Dominion of Undeniable Perfection" was quoted saying the following, negating his previous attempts to dominate NationStates: "Alas, before, thy fights were gruesome. For the pride of the land! Thou shant fight? Thou shall piss on thy mother's will! No! A new era is upon us! Thy pride comes from thy lack of internet activity and thy agenda to self-betterment! Dost thou think they will fear thee, with hours spent on thy computer? I say, nay! By thy courage, by thy might and by thy will power, yearn to seek thy wisdom, naught in this realm, but in thy outdoors and thy life world. True power cometh from thy actions that doth substantiate into real fruit, nay thine false pride. Be yee perfect by thine own action here, and doth quit thy puny game! From Darkness and Delusion teacheth it to thine others. We have won today, nay by our bandwidth'd victory, but by our choice for a new, better battle. Here, here SONATA ARCTICA!

Moreover, the mode of thinking went to doing better things with their time. Incidently, members of Sonata Arctica find it humourous to hear and see occasions of gloating from old rivals strutting Nation States attributes that translate into nothing for them.

Notably, the owner of The Dominion of Undeniable Perfection was influenced, as easy as ever, to name the new "Nation of the Year" title, again, to Oppressed Peoples of Asymptote Island. Furthermore, the title retains its value of 5 Ourftars redeemable on Neptune.
