Space Tree

Space Trees are an unique life-form native to the Planet Jurai, where they grow in an especially created sanctuary. There is evidence that Space Trees are semi-sentient, despite their major difference from most other sentient life-forms.

• The sanctuary for Space Trees

What is the most special about the Space Trees is that they are capable of producing incredible amount of energy, and serve as cores of Juraian spaceships. It is rumored that each tree specifically chooses the person who will captain it, and being allowed to enter the Space Tree Sanctuary in order to be granted a Space Tree is considered to be one of the highest honours on Jurai.

The Space Trees also have an ability to re-grow if they are die by leaving a seed after their death. Of course, for a Space Tree to re-grow, it requires soil and water, like any ordinary tree, so a Space Tree whose ship was destroyed in space wouldn’t re-grow. A Space Tree whose ship crushed to the planet’s surface, on the other hand, would, providing that the planet has appropriate climate. However, once the Space Tree is rooted to the planet’s surface, it cannot be uprooted, and thus, cannot function as Juraian Ship’s core anymore. It still retains some other special qualities, however, including all its memories as ship’s core.

The Space Trees are rumored to originate from Tsunami, a Juraian Goddess, who is also widely rumored to be a Space Tree herself, as well as the most powerful of Juraian Spaceships. According to the legends, Tsunami gives birth to first generation Space Trees. The first generation Space Trees give birth to second generation Space Trees. The second generation Space Trees – to third generation Space Trees, and so on… The farther the generation – the weaker is the Space Tree’s power. First and second generation Space Trees are believed to make their ships nearly undefeatable in combat, and even fourth of fifth generation Space Trees are believed to make their ships more powerful then those of most other interstellar nations.

It is important to note, that Jurai Empire has spaceships other then those powered by the Space Trees. While these spaceships are built to resemble those of the Space Trees, they are nowhere near as powerful as the ships powered by the Space Trees.
