Spoot Halflings

A Spoot Halfling stands at a height avereging 1' the tallest recorded being 1'6", they were originally discovered by Mr Spoot's great granduncle who bred the species into a larger attraction for his circus show, they breed at extraordinary speeds making them quite a problem when it comes down to the population explosion theory.

History

As previously mentioned the Spoot Halflings were discovered sometime in the 1800's, they were found on the Indonesian islands where the extreme conditions had caused many creatures to shrink, all attempts at breeding the dwarfed animals failed except for the Halflings who bred at great speed, thinking them to be a good show Mr Spoot took several men and women and started off his Circus show, the creatures were a great success and it was part of the reason that the Spoot Circus became so popular.

After the Circus show business dryed up and all show's were cancelled the Spoot Halflings were sent back firstly to their homeland, the captive Halfling population was in it's hundreds of thousands and quickly stripped the island bare, Mr Spoot felt sorry for the hardship partly down to him and quickly took the Halflings under his care in the Province of Freak Show, there they prospered, they built specialist villages and communities dwarfed in size, some took jobs in the newly opened Silli Splonk candy factory things were looking bright for the Spootys.

As Spooty dragged it's way into the modern world the Halfling population reached critical size, there was little to no more room left in Freak Show Halflings either fled abroad to Little Mexico, fled to other Spooty provinces or campaigned to have the unclaimed territory to the north taken for the Halflings, Mr Spoot feared an international dispute over the lands and so did not invade, he hoped that the Halflings would soon ignore their dream.

Genetic Traits

A Spoot has other evolutionary traits that appear more on the inside than the out, most notably is the Spoot's muscle power, if a Spoot were put on a rigourous training of his muscles then he would be no stronger then when he started, the muscle seems incapable of growing but in the same way a Spooty's Metabalism seems to be far greater than any other creature, it's as if there are safeguards in place to stop a Spooty from changing apperance.

Of course another obvious trait is their size, this is a great advantage as it means that in a military armour tends to be cheaper, though it does tend to mean that they are more sceptible to heavy weights, a Halfling also doesn't require much food as their isn't much for energy to be burned on.

A Halfling tends to get easily hyperactive and jittery, as said above this could be due to the fact that more energy is being absorbed than can be burned, it is not uncommon for a Spoot to be covered from head to toe in sweat from all the activity.

Halfling Evolution

Due to reasons unknown the Halfling seems far more capable of adapting to a new environment and thus far several hundred different breeds of Halfling have been recorded, just a few are listed below.

Ancient Halfling

Standing at 3-4' and rather podgy, these Halflings are much different to the common Halfling as they seem far greater in technology, unfortunantly this breed died off after they refused to move on from an area they had completely stripped of resources, the last of the race was discovered shortly after the discovery of the species but having no mate it died and the breed with it.

Toop Goblins

Evolving from the ancient Halfling gene, whilst many remained in a stripped land other Halflings moved Eastwards where they found themselves in a land of great dark and cold, the creatures evolved to cope but lost any compassion they once felt towards life and slowly became more shriveled and brooding.

Colour Monkey Family

Though wildly theoretical certain studies have explored the possibility that the Littlke Purple Monkey and the Little Red Monkey may be related to the Halflings, the two do share remarkable traits with one another, for one an intention to remain gormless.

Little Mexicans

originating from Little Mexico these lethargic Halflings have taken a lot from Spanish society being raised under the captivity of Latin America.
