Overview

The Political Parties of Starblaydia are, in truth, nothing more than simple facades to give international observers the impression of a Democracy within the nation, prompting the United Nations to categorise Starblaydia as having 'Some' Political Freedoms, as opposed to the 'Outlawed' of previous years. The parties themselves are all selected and approved by the Lord-Protector and any political 'extremists' such as Communists or extreme Democracists are charged with 'being a memeber of an illegal political organisation' and excluded from the political process.

It is often joked in the Starblaydi Government that the near-useless political system is responsible for much of the wasted spending in the Government budget.

The Parties

Praetoran Party

This is, and always has been, the main Political organisation in Starblaydia, and is dedicated to supporting the Lord-Protector and whatever his policies are.

Current Governors: 8 (highest ever: 8)
Provinces held: Victoria, Jhan, Gar-Hallad, Basia, Riegas, Urjal, Tournetas, Veles.

Workers' Party

Not as far over to the left of the political spectrum as you might think, the Workers' Party strives for an efficient and well-run economy, promoting the ordinary worker as the backbone of Starblaydia's power. Increasing economic output is the main priority of this party.

Current Governors: 3 (highest ever: 3)
Provinces held: Hecia, Giarista, Neveheim.

Liberal Party

In the truest tradition of 'flip-flopping, lilly-livered Liberalism', the Starblaydi Liberal Party seemingly change their views according to whatever situation they are presented with and attempt to fight for each province as a separate entity.

Current Governors: 1 (highest ever: 1)
Provinces held: Phraen.

Independants

Independant candidates are rare, but not uncommon. Though anyone accpeted by the Lord-Protector into the political landscape is most-likely to become a Praetoran candidate.

Banned Parties

  • The Starblaydi Communist Party
  • The 'Starblaydia for a Democratic Tomorrow' Party
  • The National Facist Alliance
  • The Nemyan Independance Party
  • The Vilitan Antiparticulates
