The Sterling is the name of the official currency of the Resurgent Dream.
Numismatic history
The term sterling refers to silver which was the primary precious metal used as currency among Danaans prior to the Homecoming War. However, the Resurgent Dream was never on an official and organized silver standard. The term sterling was artificially chosen as the new name for Danaan currency after the Shattering rendered the continued effective use of the dross impossible.
