Shattering

The Shattering is a largely unexplained event in which most, although not all, of the Fae in the world suddenly began to find Earth unbearable. Most of them proceeded immediately to the nearest trods into the Dreaming, where they are generally understood to now be living safely. Others were overwhelmed by such misery that they faded from being or were killed in the rush to flee Earth.
