The rank of Supreme General is awarded to the current leader of the Klonor Space Corps, the first line of defence and primary military organisation of the Associated Systems of Klonor. To this date there have been three seperate leaders of the Corps: Abel Salm, Yunger Keane, and the current Richard Ihm. Though the position is officially subordinate to the civilian government and, with the exception of Abel Salm, occupied exclusively by loyal soldiers, the various leaders are often influential enough with their soldiers to command the utmost personal loyalty.

The rank itself is nominally political in nature, with the current General receiving powers within the civilian government of the Association, but the first requirements of its holders are still a superior grasp of military strategy, tactics, and the requirements of war. So far, the Generals that have contented themselves to remain within their appointed roles have seen fit to distance themselves from the civilian government and the powers awarded them by the Association, obviously seeing themselves solely as the head of the Armed Forces and chosing to not impose their will on a representative democracy government.

The current military analysts believe former Generals Keane and Salm to be equal in their military ability, with Ihm noticeably behind his two predecessors. This is in no way an indication of a lack of skill on Ihms part, merely an acknowledgement that the other two posess a higher level.

In order to be awarded the rank of Supreme General one has to have served as an Admiral within the Corps for no less than five years prior to their nomination as successor, be able to decisively demonstrate their superiority to the other candidates, and obtain the support of the reigning General prior to their promotion. The final decision itself rests within the hands of the Duke Klonor, or the Consuls after the formation of the Association, but the candidate pool is only composed of those who have met the three requirements.
