006 M3 Elections

The Last Election. Now finished.

Favoured Candidates

Ten days before the election, the 13 candidates "Most Likely to be Elected Governor" where presented to the world by the NNN with the hope that these popular candidates could drum up enough support to be chosen to sit on the High Parliment (if elected Governor).

These where:

Sebastian Emmanulas

One of the current Governors of Haven, Sebastian is a firm supporter of the New Catholic Church, though would like to be in a position to reform this reformed church into something more to the Emmanuli liking. Moderately anti-business, Sebastian campaigns with putting Nag Ehgoeg first and returning to “being concerned with one’s neighbour’s well being, not one’s neighbour’s profit margins!”

Wesley Malfisto

Wesley is looking good to be elected by a large portion of Iron Glass voters. A tough on crime approach that manifests as brinkmanship towards the BP. A firm supporter of big business, though almost un-Nagian with his insistence that more security is needed in Nag Ehgoeg and that this means sacrificing human rights.

Maria Yan

Nag Ehgoeg’s business is science. Yan, a New Nagian candidate, insists that more must be done to further mankind’s understanding of the universe through the application of science. Moderately anti-Holy League, Yan is the most pro-BP candidate running in Nag Ehgoeg – and is surprising popular for it as well. Maria insists that more can be achieved in co-operating with the alliances in the world than by seeking to tear them down.

Martha Albert

Believed to be part of the think tank behind the IFP, Ms Albert insists that the only way forward for Nag Ehgoeg – or indeed any nation – is to free themselves from the yolk of international peer pressure. A firm believer that MMAs are the biggest threat to both Nag Ehgoeg and world peace, Ms Albert takes things one step further by believing the UN top be a force of oppression. Not merely a simple anarchist, however, Martha realises the importance of picking one’s battles and is thus staunchly anti-BP while being open to co-operation with other “oppressive forces”.

Monique Watford

A simple believer that Nag Ehgoeg does not have enough political freedoms. Monique is running a campaign of precious few policies, insisting that the people need to get more involved with their own leadership.

Heidi Mcgill

Heidi believes Nag Ehgoeg needs to take a more active role in international religious freedom and tolerance. Moderately anti-BP – stereotyped as forcing Islam on the world – and moderately anti-Holy League. Heidi is one of the few candidates who believe that Nag Ehgoeg would benefit from joining the AU.

Eric Doyon

Brigadier-General Doyon doesn’t believe that Nag Ehgoeg can defend herself from foreign invasion. Doyon believes Nag Ehgoeg should try to seek some form of permanent peace treaty with BP members and considers the IFP to be an ill thought out alliance that will crumble under the weight of its obsolescence.

Jeanne Soileau

A devout Genesoan Catholic, Jeanne wishes to forge closer ties to the Holy League and Catholic Europe. Jeanne also espouses increased military spending in order to weather the “trying times ahead”. Jeanne wishes for more power to be given to the Enclave, and for the Nagian forces in Israel to be under the command of the Enclave rather than the BOS.

Esther Hildebrand

Hildebrand also espouses forging a closer relationship with Catholic Europe, though Esther also believes firmly in the principles of the IFP and would encourage the Holy League to disband as a military alliance and rely on the secular IFP for protection. Hildebrand is vehemently anti-BP, though mildly in favour of the Schismatic Catholic movement as it appears to be easier to mould.

Kristine Odum

Proposing both brinkmanship towards the BP and increasing Nag Ehgoeg’s nuclear capability Kristine seen as the “Iron Maiden” of Nagian politics – though her reputation is somewhat misleading as she holds traditional Nagian freedoms dear to her heart. Kristine believes that by having the threat of mutual annihilation put in the foremost of international politics, nations will be more willing to see the bigger picture and be more forgiving of “small issues”.

Matthew Thacker

If all goes well Matthew Thacker will soon be Matthew Malfisto. Thacker believes that Nagian business is too harshly regulated to compete with the other economic powers of the world and that more money needs to be sunk into ACO and other leading Nagian businesses.

Aaron Alves

Comrade Alves wishes to see a return to communist Nag Ehgoeg. Back to the days when the government professionals knew best – not the latest ad campaign on TV. Alves wishes to decrease Nagian military spending and education budget in order to put more money into environmental protection. Mildly pro-BP, in that Alves wishes to return to the days when Nag Ehgoeg was a neutral safe haven – protected from attack not by might of arms but by treaties and common sense.

James Pugh

A firm believer in Nagian isolationism. We don’t need anyone but our own! Mr Pugh (as he insists on being called) believes Nag Ehgoeg should pull out of international politics, and grant it’s colonies independence. A believer that Nagian citizens need more civil rights and political freedoms, Mr Pugh believes the focus should be Nag Ehgoeg first.

Elected Members of Parliment

1) Maria Yan, 31 – Elected MP

Nag Ehgoeg’s business is science. Yan, a New Nagian candidate, insists that more must be done to further mankind’s understanding of the universe through the application of science. Moderately anti-Holy League, Yan is the most pro-BP Member of Parliment in Nag Ehgoeg – and is surprising popular for it as well. Maria insists that more can be achieved in co-operating with the alliances in the world than by seeking to tear them down.

2) Eric Doyon, 62 - Elected MP

Brigadier-General Doyon doesn’t believe that Nag Ehgoeg can defend herself from foreign invasion. Doyon believes Nag Ehgoeg should try to seek some form of permanent peace treaty with BP members and considers the IFP to be an ill thought out alliance that will crumble under the weight of its obsolescence.

3) Sebastian Emmanulas, 21 – Elected MP

One of the current Governors of Haven, Sebastian is a firm supporter of the New Catholic Church, though would like to be in a position to reform this reformed church into something more to the Emmanuli liking. Moderately anti-business, Sebastian campaigned by “putting Nag Ehgoeg first” and returning to “being concerned with one’s neighbour’s well being, not one’s neighbour’s profit margins!”

4) Wesley Malfisto, 36 – Elected MP

Wesley was elected by a large portion of Iron Glass voters. A tough on crime approach that manifests as brinkmanship towards the BP. A firm supporter of big business, though almost un-Nagian with his insistence that more security is needed in Nag Ehgoeg and that this means sacrificing human rights.

5) Kristine Odum, 17 – Elected MP

Proposing both brinkmanship towards the BP and increasing Nag Ehgoeg’s nuclear capability Kristine seen as the “Iron Maiden” of Nagian politics – though her reputation is somewhat misleading as she holds traditional Nagian freedoms dear to her heart. Kristine believes that by having the threat of mutual annihilation put in the foremost of international politics, nations will be more willing to see the bigger picture and be more forgiving of “small issues”.

6) Jeanne Soileau, 43 – Elected MP

A devout Genesoan Catholic, Jeanne wishes to forge closer ties to the Holy League and Catholic Europe. Jeanne also espouses increased military spending in order to weather the “trying times ahead”. Jeanne wishes for more power to be given to the Enclave, and for the Nagian forces in Israel to be under the command of the Enclave rather than the BOS.

7) Matthew Malfisto, 25 – Elected MP

The former Matthew Thacker announced his marriage to Lyia Malfisto on the day the moment the polls closed for the Senatorial Elections. Matthew believes that Nagian business is too harshly regulated to compete with the other economic powers of the world and that more money needs to be sunk into ACO and other leading Nagian businesses.

8) Heidi Mcgill, 29 – Elected MP

Heidi believes Nag Ehgoeg needs to take a more active role in international religious freedom and tolerance. Moderately anti-BP – stereotyped as forcing Islam on the world – and moderately anti-Holy League. Heidi is the key voice in Nag Ehgoeg claiming it would benefit from joining the AU.

9) Aaron Alves, 37 – Elected MP

Comrade Alves wishes to see a return to communist Nag Ehgoeg. Back to the days when the government professionals knew best – not the latest ad campaign on TV. Alves wishes to decrease Nagian military spending and education budget in order to put more money into environmental protection. Mildly pro-BP, in that Alves wishes to return to the days when Nag Ehgoeg was a neutral safe haven – protected from attack not by might of arms but by treaties and common sense.

10) Kane Malfisto, 54 – Surprise Candidate Elected MP

How Kane came to be elected is something of a mystery. A former member of the Nagian Special Forces (recently retired) Kane shares the militaristic views of Dr Yan and Brigadier-General Doyon. Kane’s took the elections in his Iron Glass province with the slogan “Peace Through Strength”.

11) Catherine Vicar, 73 – Surprise Candidate Elected MP

Something of a cross between Doyon and Sebastian Emmanulas. Seeking peace through treaties rather than military might, Vicar – despite getting very little publicity – managed to sweep a large swath of traditional pacifist Nagian votes.

12) Jennifer Emmanulas, 57 – Surprise Candidate Elected MP

A discrete member of the so called “Radical” Emmanulas Bloodline, Jennifer surprised her electoral candidates the most completely as she invoked a little known piece of bureaucracy to enter the Senatorial Elections at the last minute. A well respected former MP, her nomination to Parliament was not surprising. Highly spiritual and pro-personal freedoms.

13) Obsidian McNight, 29 – Surprise Candidate Elected MP

McNight was a simple long standing governor of an obscure sector of Syntha Prime, until the Regent invited him to dinner. While this wasn’t enough to give him a significant backing of the Senate, it was just enough to get him into Parliament. Conserved more with maintaining the tourism to his sector than with international politics he’s seen as a “grounded” choice.

Other Results

Martha Albert, 43 – Elected Governor

Believed to be part of the think tank behind the IFP, Ms Albert insists that the only way forward for Nag Ehgoeg – or indeed any nation – is to free themselves from the yolk of international peer pressure. A firm believer that MMAs are the biggest threat to both Nag Ehgoeg and world peace, Ms Albert takes things one step further by believing the UN top be a force of oppression. Not merely a simple anarchist, however, Martha realises the importance of picking one’s battles and is thus staunchly anti-BP while being open to co-operation with other “oppressive forces”. Due to international pressure, Martha was not elected to the Nagian High Parliament – just beaten to by Obsidian Mc Night.

Esther Hildebrand, 32 – Elected Governor

Hildebrand also espouses forging a closer relationship with Catholic Europe, though Esther also believes firmly in the principles of the IFP and would encourage the Holy League to disband as a military alliance and rely on the secular IFP for protection. Hildebrand is vehemently anti-BP, though mildly in favour of the Schismatic Catholic movement as it appears to be easier to mould.

James Pugh, 62 – Elected Governor

A firm believer in Nagian isolationism. We don’t need anyone but our own! Mr Pugh (as he insists on being called) believes Nag Ehgoeg should pull out of international politics, and grant it’s colonies independence. A believer that Nagian citizens need more civil rights and political freedoms, Mr Pugh believes the focus should be Nag Ehgoeg first. The “Nag Ehgoeg first” vote was more than enough for a landslide election to Governorship, but left him without a solid base of support in the Senate, with the religious candidates grabbing the votes he was counting on.

Monique Watford, 46 – Not Elected

A simple believer that Nag Ehgoeg does not have enough political freedoms. Monique is running a campaign of precious few policies, insisting that the people need to get more involved with their own leadership. Despite having a strong election campaign, Watford was blindsided by Jennifer Emmanulas’s last minute addition to the election race.

New Nagian Results

Fernando Emmanulas, 22 - Elected Custodian

Fernando is, as one might expect, a firm supporter of the Schismatic Church – though like most Emmanuli, he believes the New Church is in dire need of reform. Other than in matters of religion, Fernando believes in isolationism for New Nag Ehgoeg – the better to reflect inwardly on religious truths. A supporter of more political and civil freedoms, slightly anti-business.

Other

Maria Yan, 31 - Elected MP

Nag Ehgoeg’s business is science. Yan insists that more must be done to further mankind’s understanding of the universe through the application of science. Moderately anti-Holy League, Yan was the most pro-BP candidate running in New Nag Ehgoeg. Maria insists that more can be achieved in co-operating with the alliances in the world than by seeking to tear them down and would try to bring New Nag Ehgoeg out of the Holy League and into the United States. She was elected as a Governor and Member of Parliment, but not Custodian.

Andrew Harris, 30 - Elected Governor

The current Custodian of New Nag Ehgoeg. Andrew is beloved by citizens of Nag Ehgoeg all over the world. Renowned as the pioneer behind the Texas Purchase which led to the formation of New Nag Ehgoeg, Harris is hailed by the Nagian press as “New Andy” – comparing him with the Regent of Nag Ehgoeg. While he is undoubtedly the favourite candidate amongst Nagian’s as a whole, it is only the votes of New Nagian’s that count. Andrew supports the status quo of New Nag Ehgoeg - anti-BP, pro-HL & UN. Surprising Andrew was neither re-elected as Custodian, nor elected as an MP, still the young man has a large backing and hopes to run again next election.

Darren Malfisto, 45 - Elected Governor

Darren believes that not enough is being done to fully exploit the uncharted terrain of America and that New Nag Ehgoeg should focus more on interacting with it’s neighbours than by interacting with distant alliances such as the Holy League and IFP. While he is not against either institution, Darren would rather see the Enclave relocated to another part of Nag Ehgoeg in order to give the Schismatic Church a chance. Pro-big business, anti-BP.

Erik Vensel, 33 - Not Elected

A second, anti-Holy League candidate. Erik is also anti-BP and is against Nag Ehgoeg joining the United States. Erik’s policies are even anti-Nag Ehgoeg and United Nations – believing that New Nag Ehgoeg should be its own state free on international pressures. Realising this is a long road, Erik’s immediate aims are to increase New Nag Ehgoeg’s military capacity. Despite appealing directly to the New Nagian People, he failed to get elected.

Swiss Nagian Elections

Sharon Dowler, 41 - Elected Custodian

Founder of the Swiss Amazonia party. Wishing to separate Swiss Nag Ehgoeg from Nag Ehgoeg proper. Supports building up the Swiss Army and joining the Poitiers Pact, and forging a closer relationship with the Holy League until separation is possible.

Other

Esmeralda Aberle, 34 - Elected Governor

Esmeralda believes firmly that Swiss Nag Ehgoeg should interact more with her neighbours – founding more relations with the powers of Europe while maintaining strong ties with the Nagian Mainland. While undoubtedly one of the most pro-Holy League candidates, Esmeralda is firmly against the institution of the Inquisition. She also believes more needs to be done about global environmental protection, and believes in global disbarment coupled with increased social welfare.

Sarah Emmanulas, 19 - Elected Governor

Heiress to the fortune of the Emmanuli family, and the key person behind the formation of Swiss Nag Ehgoeg in the collapse of Amazonia. A moderate supporter of the Schismatic Church and a devout believer in the status quo. Not as beloved by the people of Nag Ehgoeg as Andrew Harris of New Nag Ehgoeg is, but nevertheless the favourite candidate of mainland Nagian Citizens.

Clinton Malfisto, 49 - Not Elected

Firmly anti-BP and pro big business. Clinton supports making Swiss Nag Ehgoeg an economic power, and founding a Swiss Bank in order to increase the Nagian economy. While a complete believer in the principles of the IFP, Clinton believes trade with BP nations as individuals can only be mutually beneficial.

Ted Sauers, 53 - Not Elected

Ted Sauers supports the isolationism of Swiss Nag Ehgoeg from other factors and an increase in the political freedoms of its people.

Regent Approval Rate

The Regent, Andreas, was re-elected with 87% of the Popular Electoral Vote.
