Tarsonis Orbital is a large network of orbital platforms around Mars. Tarsonis Orbital hosts large shipyards which provide ship construction for anyone willing to pay. Tarsonis Orbital is a member of the Mars Treaty Organization in the region Mars (MTO)
History
The Colony of Tarsonis Orbital was formerly a network of space platforms constructed for the defense of the Confederate homeworld of Tarsonis. The platforms suffered a crippling invasion by the rebel faction known as "The Sons of Korhal." Promptly after the rebel assault force moved on and to the planet's surface, the small remnants of the Confederate Alpha squadron quicky rebuilt the colony and its defenses. Several months later, a large alien battlefleet formed around the war ravaged Confederate homeworld, quickly initiated a massive orbital strike, extinguishing all life on the surface. Large portions of the orbital platforms wer critically damaged during the strike. Perhaps the most remarkabe aspect of the alien attack was that the massive fleet completely ignored the floating platforms - all damage incurred was purely collateral. With the supply lines from Tarsonis gone, our people gradually began to run out of supplies. With enough resources remaining to survive for several years, the most essential platforms were equipped for hyperspace travel and loaded up with the remaining inhabitants of the platform and plotted a course for the former home of the human race. On our arrival in the Sol system, we discovered to our surprise that the planets were still inhabited, as the Confederate army and most important citizens moved to Tarsonis after a prediction that all life on Earth would be extinguished by a phenomenon known as "global warming." Although this phenomenon appears to have been simply a product of the increasingly militant environmentalists of the time lying through their teeth. We examined the system with several sensor sweeps, and the planet known as Mars proved the most promising planet to set up our new operation. We have since grown from a crippled group of fleeing stations to a massive network housing over 1 billion citizens. We participated in the Mirror Mars wars, providing the allied nations of the MTO with the dimensional warp technology neccesary to defeat the interdimensional empire.
