History of The Black Land

The Black Land's Military History

As told by President Shinzawai:

"The Black Land was created in August 2004, where it was inhabited by several nations, numbering around 10 or so. The key players at this stage were Shinzawai, Andaras Prime, La Bas and Rhodesa. These were the big names of our region, and for a number of weeks co-existed quite happily. That was, however, until the creation of the UCBLS.

The UCBLS (United Collective for Black Land Security) was an international organisation created by Shinzawai and Andaras Prime. The objective of this was to be a neutral body within the region which would posess a standing army and could settle military disputes between member nations. Each nation in The Black Land was to commit soldiers and equipment to this organisation. These soldiers would then become UCBLS troops, and would retain no ties to their countries of origin.

As fate would have it, the UCBLS was the cause for that which it seeked to avoid. For some weeks our nations added military resources and troops to the organisation, until Rhodesa attempted to take control of the entire organisation for his own ends. He claimed that the soldiers he sent to the UCBLS were still Rhodesian soldiers under his command, and as such the UCBLS was then under his personal command.

In retaliation, Shinzawai, Andaras Prime and La Bas formed an alliance against Rhodesa. What followed was an epic war spanning all corners of the region. The conflict was further widened with the entrance of Notredla into the war. Notredla entered the conflict on the side of Rhodesa, however did not fight us directly. His support was in the form of aid to Rhodesa. Andaras Prime and Shinzawai forces were required to halt Rhodesa's advance into La Bas, which almost destroyed our ally. Rhodesa then attempted to invade Shinzawai, however this was unsuccessful. Shinzawai forces then formed a blockade of Notredla, and prepared for invasion.

In the final weeks of the war, Shinzawai and Andaras Prime led the invasion of Rhodesa, supported by the remaining military strength of La Bas. It was at this time that Notredla withdrew from the war, surrendering to the 'Triple Entente' you might have called it.

Rhodesa was ultimately defeated, with Shinzawai and Andaras Prime forces meeting up in the Rhodesian capital city. Several members of Rhodesa's government were executed before the nation submitted to its conquerors. Several thousand troops from Rhodesa who were in the UCBLS were also executed for attempting to overthrow the organisation. Throughout the course of the war the UCBLS fought under the command of Shinzawai, Andaras Prime and La Bas.

Some days after the end of conflict, Shinzawai presented the ten point treaty to Rhodesa, along with a five point treaty to Notredla. These were made up of various terms resolving issues arising from the conflict. (The Germans thought Versailles was harsh...they have nothing to complain about!) Rhodesa refused to obey by these terms, and was ejected from The Black Land. Notredla submitted to the terms of the treaty.

So ended the first war of The Black Land.

So, peace was restored to The Black Land for a while. The UCBLS was dissolved, lest it create more conflict.

After several weeks, Rhodesa pleaded with the victorious powers to allow it entry into the region once more. After much deliberation, this request was allowed.

The second conflict of The Black Land came about due to the entrance of Lovanda. The key players in this war were Shinzawai, Andaras Prime, The Flaming Death, Lovanda, Rhodesa and The Dominion of the Iron Fist.

Lovanda came to The Black Land to escape The Dominion of the Iron Fist, which had destroyed his original region. Several days later, however, The Dominion of the Iron Fist entered The Black Land and declared war on all member nations. Shinzawai, Andaras Prime, The Flaming Death (which had fought in the closing stages of the war with Rhodesa), Lovanda and Rhodesa formed an alliance against the Iron Fist Forces.

This war continued for several months, with Lovanda almost being destroyed once again. Ultimately, the war came to a stalemate for several weeks, before the allies were able to defeat the Iron Fist and destroy it once and for all. It should be noted that Shinzawai forces refused to aid Rhodesa in its reckless attempt to invade the Iron Fist forces in the opening stages of the conflict.

Peace again reigned in The Black Land.

The third conflict of The Black Land occurred early this year with the Black Land Seperatists attempting to overthrow the regional government. Forgive me, but I cannot recall exactly who was involved in this war. Those I can remember were Shinzawai, Andaras Prime, The Flaming Death, Zuoline, Welcia and The Black Land Seperatists.

This was a short war, since the Seperatists declared war upon The Black Land having just established itself as an organised force.

Shinzawai, Andaras Prime, The Flaming Death, Zuoline and Welcia launched a co-ordinated invasion of the Seperatists, crushing it in one swift blow. No enemy soldier stepped foot upon allied soil.

Since this time, many nations have come and gone, including the final demise of Rhodesa who was a continual source of trouble for the region.

The Black Land has since been a region of peace. We have involved ourselves slightly in the battle between The MT Army and The Nazis, however this was a single event in support of our ally, The MT Army. The Black Land remains committed to assisting in this struggle, however we have not since been in a position to aid."
