The Desh Junta of 1989 is a popular name for a militairy dictatorship, established in Desh 1989-1994.It was established by the militairy, lead by General Muhhamad Sözai Everem , in order to surpress "the decomposition of society"-refering to the 1970's and 1980's refoms. The state remained under its "formal" leadership, yet Karb'ai Kayybaiyn VI. of Desh was given no rulig rights at all and the prime minister was deprived of all executive powers by the new constitution. The junta was, however, represented by The National Council of Desh , striving to restore the militairy powers of Desh and allong with them, all the secret government agencies that were abolished in the former reforms. The only member of the Council to become an acting member of politics was 2nd secretary Abidullaj Mojasi ,who became Minister of Agriculture .

The Junta wished to include socialistic ideology, along with Romantic Colonialism and a mutliple cult of personality, into everyday life, introducing the first three year agricultural plan in 1990.However,the state produced unsensical quoatas for grain production ,for each region being different, in some, reaching a value of 380 % of the average yearly crop. When grain production was found being at a mere 25 % of the state estimated limits for continuation of donations to small farmers, the state established show trials, judging 29 farmers for "treason" and "sabotage" for "purposely sabotaging the crop ,lowering its numbers as to proclaim non-verbal oposition to the Democratic Junta". 3 were sentenced to death,6 to life imprisonment ,10 to forced labour, grade C (hardest and most inhumane) for 20 years and 10 to having their entiere belongings confiscated in the name of the state, leaving 10 families homeless by state decree-it was forbidden,by law to provide theese people with shelter, food or any other "luxuries" and when they would be found stealing or "loitering" garbage cans, they were to be "sentenced to death" by any common policeman and "executed on the spot".The Junta declared that "theese traitors must all die a hunger death for their betrayl of socialism".

However, the red cross took care of theese families. The Junta then banned the red cross and ordered all its posesions on Desh teritory confiscated in the name of the state and their leaders were sentenced by the Council, without trial,to 15 years of forced labour grade C. A member of the council, howeverr, protested against theese breeches of the constitution during a television broadcast of the Council meeting and was shot by Everem on national tv,who commented that he had "sentenced him to death for treason".This caused riots in many cities, leading to 40 people being purposely (on orders) trampled to death by government soldiers on horses. The red cross meanwhile used its influence and moved out of the country, except for a group of 25 representatives, who, together with people from the whole suroinding area, amoungitng a number of 16 000 people, were sworn to protect the headquarters of the Red Cross in Desh.

In 1993,at the end of the three year plan, only 23.2% of the grain ordered by the state was produced. This lead to heavy penalization of toher farmers, including further farm confiscations and penales up to 20 000 000 dollars per person in the family of a "disrespectfull" farmer (in some ,amounting to over 100 000 000 ,counting in new born infants and pre-pubescent children as well).

This lead to further riots, that ended with the formation of The Freedom League ,amounting to a total of over 25 000 people at its inception and in the next 3 months rising to a number of over 600 000, including former politicians, militairy officials and policemen, who deserted from the Government. In 1994 a crowd of over 750 900 people encircled the Government Palace and demanded that the Junta withdrew.Everem tried to negotiate and proclaimed his will to change all ministerial seats in the government, however, since only 1 was held by a junta member and all the other by the Junta democraticly chosen ministers, though with limited or litle to no executive powers, this was considered anything else then a friendly gesture.Over 3 000 people then entered the palace peacfully and took the Junta members hostage. And just before a militairy contingent of 1 000 000 soldiers could have been sent to deal with the protesters, the Junta called it off, restored the pre 1989 constitution and disolved itself.Everem was to be escorted peacfully out,but a mistake brought him into the open field, where he was lynched by ca. 20 000 people,so much,in fact, that his remains were only found after 8 days.

The Prime minister restored the government of pre 1989 and abolished all laws, decrees, sentences and decisions made by the Junta.

The prime minister Basileos Win Kau Bain of Hwan-Hwan was forced to asociate with the regime and was instantly deposed by it,because of his "un-loyal-ness" in 1992,replaced by several times prime minister Baron Jinquarai Komel e'l Subashir , who had no executive powers as well.
