The Empire of NoDot

Introduction

The Empire of NoDot is a large nation which is the sole occupant of the region named "The Council of NoDot."

Government

The nation is governed by the Council. Each member of the Council is reelected every two years. There are strict laws about campaigning.

Above the Council, however, is Autocrat NoDot, a former human who had his conciousness uploaded into an AI system. Although NoDot rarely does so, it has the power to veto any decision by the Council. There is no limit or restraint to NoDot's power.

Economy

The Empire of NoDot is a socialist-like technocracy.

The primary domestic concern, aside from defense, is agriculture. Exportation is currently non-existant.

Most power generation is by nulcear generators. Most devices in the military are powered by smaller nuclear generators. This movement was primarily spearheaded by environmentalists, with the support of Autocrat NoDot. The priomary reasoning was geographic concerns, such as the placement of the capital city in a valley.

Geography

The Empire of NoDot is an island nation, approximately the size of Australia. Most of the nation is plain area, with cities being located near mountainous regions and river mouths. There is one cave that one can enter through, and it's heavily guarded.

Technology

The Empire of NoDot is far beyond most other nations in technological advancement. It's commonplace for people to go about their business in "hovercars."

Military

Although the Empire of NoDot is expansive in physical size, the military guarding the Empire is miniscule.

The land military that guards the Empire numbers at a mere 50,000 land troops. To compensate for the miniscule size, the land military relies extensively on knowledge of psionics.

The "Air Force" is hardly less constricted than the "Army." The Empire's Air Force is composed of approximately 200 devices called "Aerocraft." These craft have a high top velocity, excellent manuverability, and the ability to both launch missles and drop bombs. Aerocraft require three people to opperate.

Aerocraft are unique in the fact that Autocrat NoDot altered the original plans for the craft slightly to allow the device to opperate outside of the atmosphere. However, the craft experiences less control and manuverability outside of the atmosphere.

The Air Force also currently opperates multiple transport craft. These craft are capable of transporting 30 people at once, not counting the two pilots.

The primary defense in the Empire of NoDot, however, is the Satelite Defense System. Originally conceived by NoDot, the S.D.S. is conposed of 40 satelites at this time. Each satelite currently contains a high-powered laser and powerful observation devices.

Proposed Military Projects

The following are ideas that are currently being considered for funding.

• Space Warp/Bubble Devices - The device would theoretically bend space around the device, permitting it to cloak. Foreseeable downsides include inability to reach the device in full cloak.
• Sea Ships - As the Empire has no current Navy, multiple groups are attempting to volley for the coinstruction of a fleet.
• Subterrainian Vehicles - Currently being considered by NoDot, the vehicles would allow one to travel beneath the surface of the planet. Making the devices submersible is also under consideration.

Secret Security

The Empire's Secret Security (ESS) is a covert department in charge of the use of the SDS and also utilises 100 Remote Viewers for covert intelligence gathering when the SDS can't perform.

Acting in similar capacity to the NSA, FBI, and CIA, the ESS also has the power, in theory, to launch covert opperations. However, they have never been required to, yet.

Diplomatic Relations

The Empire of NoDot is a relatively isolationist nation. Still new to world affairs, the Empire is still plagued massively by terrorists. It's expected that embassies will be attacked once the embassy building is completed.

History

The area that is currently under the control of the Empire was once a coalition of five states. These states are represented today by the five regions of the nation.

Approximately 60 years ago, a man who called himself "NoDot" began amassing an army. At its height, the army numbered 10,000 people. While that number is pitiful compared to the over 1,000,000 soldiers commanded by the confederacy that was in power, the psionic abilities NoDot taught his soldiers, and their secrecy which saved them from infiltration.

Approximately 50 years ago, NoDot and his army marched into the capital and overtook the million soldiers defending the city. Facing 100 times their numbers and an enemy with guns, the smaller army only lost a quarter of its troops. NoDot quickly took power from the Confederacy and instilled himself as the Autocrat (dictator). The Cenfederacy's army quickly disbanded and fled.

After claiming power, NoDot quickly constructed a large AI system into which he uploaded his conciousness into the system. He, or rather it, dug a long way underground below the capital and created a large, intricate system linking the AI to the surface.

In the next 50 years, NoDot setup a large technocracy and was a driving force in the nation's quick subsequent technological advancement. NoDot often examined personally the plans for multiple pieces of defense technology before permitting them to enter into production. An excellent example is the Aerocraft, which NoDot altered slightly to permit the craft to fly outside of the atmosphere.
