The Rogue Nation of Thoughtlessness was a former nation located the middle of a huge wasteland in the former region Baseball is Life. It existed long ago, in the early stages of NationStates, from around December of 2002 to March of 2003 RL.

Thoughtlessness Government

The Rogue Nation of Thoughtlessness was ruled with an iron fist by a madman who was always referred to as Pope Eddie Jaworksi. He could be best described as an extremely sadistic and extremely brilliant evil genius. Although he granted the populace great freedom to buy whatever they wanted, he stamped out many civil rights and instituted hundreds of odd and evil social policies, such as mandatory public nudity if it was colder than 50 degrees (Fahrenheit.) But where he truly gave the greatest qualms were to his businesses. Although the economy was very much a free-market, he frequently announced to business the placing of hundreds of restrictions, almost all of which were totally arbitrary. He was very careful that none of these restrictions benefited the public in any way. In fact he killed hundreds of poor persons for no good reason during his tenure.

The Rise and Fall of Thoughtlessness

Thoughtlessness had a very inopportune locale, so much so that it is abandoned today. However, it was what they were given when they asked for a colony larger than the 1/4 acre island that they were given in the South Pacific. However, they struggled to work with the land they had, and created a bustling nation which was concerned in regional affairs. Pope Jaworski arrogantly set a goal that the nation would be U.N. delegate. After arguing his way with the rest of the region into being awarded the position, Jaworski and his Thoughtlessness became the regional delegate in around the year 2276.

Thoughtlessness held the position of U.N. delegate for many years, until the untimely death of Pope Jaworski in the year 2288. The whole nation fell into complete and utter chaos, which soon became civil war. Three warring factions vied for the throne. Anne Jaworski, Pope Jaworski's wife led one of them, known as the Traditionalists. The Traditionalists demanded that the Jaworski's remain in power. Most of the Traditionalists consisted of hired mercenaries and people who were oppressed by the mercenaries into joining. General Edward Rambnasque led another faction which was determined not to let such a sadistic period befall upon Thoughtlessness. They became known as the Progressives. Yet another faction of religious Fanatics, who followed Greek Initiation, was a faction of very conservative peoples who were determined not to let either the Traditionalists nor the Progressives to join, so much so that they were willing to sacrifice themselves to stop it. They were known as Suicidians. The situation was exacerbated by the intervention of a nation whose name is disputed today by historians. However, this nation did not intend to intervene on the basis of keeping the peace, instead, they desired to increase their national territory by adding Thoughtlessness to it. This war lasted for 6 long years, suffered just under 7,250,000 casualties and resulted in the nation whose name is currently disputed gaining almost the whole of Thoughtlessness, but it was almost entirely useless because almost every square inch of it was covered with nuclear radiation by the end of the fighting. The war was known as the Thoughtlessness Civil War.
