Background
The United Nations Space Consortium (UNSC) was established following the passage of UN Resolution 51, UN Space Consortium, by a vote of 13,191 to 5,426 on Feb 29, 2004 with the goal of unifing the efforts of United Nations members and non-members to explore space. Resolution 51 also authorized the UNSC to establish a permanent UN base on the Moon, in order to facilitate future space exploration.
The UNSC is headed by a Board of Directors initially elected from the United Nations membership. Subsequent boardroom positions, and vacancies which may arise, are decided by a stockholders vote. Funding for the UNSC is provided for by the sale and trade of stock.
The proceedings of the UNSC are open to the public at the
UNSC General Forum.
