The United States of Mars is a nation entering into the new world of roleplay. Along with other members of Mars, the USM's roleplaying began with the Mirror Mars War however it was decided the war was not really roleplay and was more gameplay. Official roleplaying was started when Mars made contact with The Planet Mars region and soon a backstory was created.

The Planet Mars

The United States of Mars' position in roleplay concerning The Planet Mars is as follows:

The Planet Mars is in another dimension to Mars in which everything is the same except for the planet and the effect the nations of that planet. This means that neither The Planet Mars nor Mars are the Official Mars but are just the same planet in different dimensions with different nations. A similar story was used to explain the Mirror Mars War.

Earth

The United States of Mars' position in roleplay concerning Earth is as follows:

Earth is not the NationStates Earth and it contains the same nations it does in the real world today (more or less) but in the 2080s. This means that the USM position on the Earth theories in this article are that they are not true. Earth is the same size etc. and no new continents have formed.

The United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland to the USM are the ones on the real world planet today except in the 2080s and they are the nations which colonised the USM.

Time

The United States of Mars' position in roleplay concerning time is as follows:

The system used for dates is as follows:

  • April 4th - 3rd July 2005: 2080
  • 4th July - 3rd September 2005: 2081
  • 4th Septemeber - 3rd December 2005: 2082
