Hey, {{PAGENAME}}! Welcome to NSwiki. When you get a chance, tell us a bit about yourself on your [[User:{{PAGENAME}}|User page]].

We ask that you not update your wiki site daily with stuff that's available on the NS nation page.  Yes, your population grows daily and your national description changes daily, but that's not what this place is for.  If you want to write original histories or summarize roleplay events, come by as often as you want. If all you're doing is cut-n-paste from NationStates, [[NSwiki:Policy]] asks that you don't.  Population of '''<100 million''' will hold you for a few weeks, and is accurate enough for the wiki.

You can sign your name on talk pages by using "~<nowiki>~</nowiki>~" for your username and "~<nowiki>~~</nowiki>~" for your username and a timestamp.

Also, the stuff you've got on your Talk page really should go on your User page.  It's considered polite to leave conversations posted to talk pages in place, especially when they are referred to by other pages (as I did in justification of last night's deletions).  All old conversations are in the Talk page History anyway, so might as well not try to keep the place spotless.  While you're under no obligation to follow this rule, you'll see [[User talk:Frisbeeteria/Archives|here]] that many of us keep all conversations, no matter how mundane.  It's just good  [[NSwiki:Avoiding common mistakes|wiki etiquette]]. I noticed you created several articles today, including [[The Dominion]], which had massive numbers of categories.  Let's not do that, please.  You are welcome to create a category for your main nation and put your nation's primary articles in that.  Categories are treated differently in the wiki, and we really don't want to be overrun with them, so the policy is "one nation, one factbook".
+

+
Please don't create categories for your regional neighbors. They can do that themselves if and when they join the wiki. Also, please don't add national categories to your region page. A better way is to provide a list of links such as "Regional members with wiki pages".  Every article should belong to one or two categories, rarely more than that.
+

+
I also reverted your blanking of a region page (I forget which), presumably one you created, then abandoned.  Please do not replace NSwiki pages with blank content. Blank pages are harmful to NSwiki because they have a tendency to confuse users. If it is a duplicate article, please [[Wikipedia:Redirect|redirect]] it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been [[Wikipedia:How_to_spot_vandalism|vandalised]], please [[Wikipedia:How_to_revert_a_page_to_an_earlier_version|revert]] it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please [[NSwiki:Page_editing|edit]] the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the [[NSwiki:Deletion_policy|deletion policy]] for how to proceed. Thanks for contributing to NSwiki! It's me again ...

We ask that you not update your wiki site daily with stuff that's available on the NS nation page. Yes, your population grows daily and your national description changes daily, but that's not what this place is for. If you want to write original histories or summarize roleplay events, come by as often as you want. If all you're doing is cut-n-paste from NationStates, NSwiki:Policy asks that you don't. Population of <100 million will hold you for a few weeks, and is accurate enough for the wiki.

While you're under no obligation to follow this rule, you'll see here that many of us keep all conversations, no matter how mundane. It's just good wiki etiquette. → Fris Θtalk 06:15, 25 Nov 2004 (GMT)

Yay! Fris! Welcome back!
OK, will do. Am now moving all that WONDERFUL stuff over to the UserPage.
