VERSYL
VERSYL, from VERsatile SYstem Launcher, is an adaptable hot-launch vertical launch system designed by Oceanian Aerospace to replace the earlier Royal Ordnance Mark series of VLS suites and is in increasingly wide-spread use in the Royal Navy.
Part of the versatility inherent in the system stems from the shared components utilised in the VERSYL variants, designated by an L and a number that corresponds to the maximum length of the launcher's cell. For example, the L75 can safely hold missiles up to 7.5 metres in length while the L100 similarly holds missiles up to 10 metres in length.

Drawbacks
Unlike the earlier Royal Ordance Mark series, concluded with the Mk.84, VERSYL does not yet offer dual-length cells. In comparison to earlier Royal Navy warships equipped with dual-length cells, ships built with VERSYL cells have a smaller missile-carrying capacity that some feel unacceptable in an era of renewed importance for anti-ship missiles. Oceanian Aerospace has announced plans to develop just such a system to fill the perceived operational deficiency.
