An influential businessman, Vierun Zhera Muraan was elevated to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Atla/Ljosa group of corporations. Serving also as head of the Unified Economic Initiative, a pro-business political party in Kajal, he has been accused twice of being a walking conflict of interest, though in the single case where a motion of confidence was introduced, the motion passed and Muraan retained his position in the party.
As CEO of Atla/Ljosa, Muraan spearheaded the acquisition of Laedan GovSystems and the Seirun Mining Comglomerate after the Seirun Mining Colony failed. The SMC was a division of Laedan GovSystems, and after the acquisition by Atla/Ljosa, it was renamed the Laedan Mining Conglomerate, and currently operates out of Mars.
Under Muraan's leadership, Atla/Ljosa was able to bring many products to market in Sol that had previously been limited to government applications only by Laedan GovSystem's strict regulations. Chief among these new products was the Imperatrix transport, which is currently available to the public as the Regal Starcruiser (The Kajali classification was retained in the domestic market), and the vessel has been modified to accept many different types of FTL drive systems, with multiple mounting points for attachments such as warp nacelles, and ample interior space for systems that are similar to traditional Kajali devices.
Vierun Muraan owns a private yacht capable of travelling between Kajal and Terra within three hours, and he often describes it as the "most opulent ship you'll ever see." Muraan is openly gay, and currently single, though there have been rumors that he has been in a relationship with Prime Minister Kavar.
